The residence and work permit is the authorisation that allows non-EU foreign nationals to live and carry out paid work in Spain. It is one of the most frequently requested immigration procedures and demands strict compliance with the legal requirements if refusals are to be avoided.

What do we handle?

We process residence and work permits for both employed and self-employed work. We assess your personal and employment situation to determine the most suitable route, prepare all the necessary documents and follow the file through to a favourable decision.

Permit for employed work

The employer files the application with the Immigration Office (Oficina de Extranjería). It must be shown that the national employment situation allows the position to be filled, that there is a signed employment contract, that the company is solvent and that the worker is not unlawfully present in Spain (save in exceptional cases). Our lawyers verify that both company and worker meet every requirement before the application is filed.

Permit for self-employed work

For those who wish to start an economic activity in Spain. You must show that the business project is viable, that you hold the required professional qualifications and that you have sufficient investment available. We prepare the business plan and all supporting documents.

How we work

We carry out a preliminary viability assessment with no obligation. If the case is viable, we gather and prepare all the documents, file the application with the competent authority, monitor the file and, once the permit is granted, assist you with the visa procedure at the consulate and with obtaining the Foreigner Identity Card (TIE).

Requirements and documents

The requirements and the documents you will need vary with the circumstances of each case. To find out what applies to yours, get in touch with the firm and we will advise you personally.
