Residence permits for highly qualified staff are designed to make it easier for professionals with higher education, researchers and company executives to join the Spanish labour market. They include the EU Blue Card and permits for intra-company transfers.
EU Blue Card
This is a residence and work permit for highly qualified professionals from non-EU countries. It requires an employment contract of at least one year, a higher education qualification (a university degree or equivalent professional experience) and a minimum salary of 150% of the average annual gross salary in Spain.
Intra-company transfers
This allows multinational companies to transfer executives, specialists or trainees to Spain. The permit is granted for the duration of the transfer and facilitates mobility within the EU. It is a fast and efficient route for companies operating internationally.
Researchers
A specific permit for researchers who will carry out research projects at public or private institutions in Spain. A hosting agreement with the research institution is required. It is compatible with teaching work and allows mobility within the EU for research projects.
Advantages and how we manage it
These permits offer faster procedures, shorter decision times and easier intra-EU mobility. At AbogadosDVA we advise both companies and professionals, handling the whole procedure: from the eligibility assessment through to obtaining the TIE and, where applicable, family reunification.
