Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on the specific procedure, but you will generally need a valid passport, proof of municipal registration, a criminal record certificate and documents specific to the type of permit. At the first consultation we assess your case and tell you exactly which documents you need.

Timescales vary with the type of procedure. An initial residence and work permit can take around 3 months. Renewals are usually decided in 1 to 2 months. Citizenship can take between 1 and 3 years. We will tell you the estimated timescale for your particular case.

If you are renewing your permit and filed in time, you can carry on working using the application receipt. For initial permits, you cannot work until you have a favourable decision and have been registered with the social security system.

We offer both. You can book a video consultation from anywhere, or come in person to either of our two offices in Madrid (Estrecho and Legazpi metro stations).

We work in Spanish and English. Our team can assist you in whichever of the two you feel most comfortable with.
